Firm selected to design $85 million building for PCC

Design firm Bora Architecture & Interiors, in collaboration with DAO Architecture, Curious Architects, and Walker Macy, has been selected to design an $85 million career and technical education (CTE) building for Portland Community College’s Rock Creek campus in Northwest Portland.

Craftsman Character

Splitting one single family residential lot into three unique craftsman homes with rentable basement units in a vibrant, walkable Portland neighborhood, this project exemplifies small-scale densification that builds upon the neighborhood’s character and identity.

Championing Sustainability

As sustainability architect on the Concourse E Extension project at Portland International Airport (PDX), Pooja led this project to LEED Gold. Daylighting, smart sensors, automated shades, and fritted glass amount to a 70% reduction in energy use for lighting. The solar-ready roof, recycled material use, and 98% construction waste reduction are just a few fun facts to think of when waiting for your flight.

Densifying Without Gentrifying

A mix of affordable and market-rate housing with deference to the vernacular architecture of St. Johns. Covered, outdoor rooms, open-air circulation, bike amenities, regional materials, and a communal courtyard create ecological connection between residents and their environment.

Breathing New Life Into Old Buildings

This adaptive reuse project transforms Cincinnati’s abandoned Republican Club into a community maker space, tool-share, and materials library.

Building with Salvaged Materials

Modern interventions bring new life to hidden gems in this grass-roots community development project.
